About the Author

I am a self-published author, a freelance writer, mother of three adult children, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother to Zoe. I have been married for thirty-six years to my high school sweetheart, Rashad Dupree. I was born and raised in Newark, NJ. I attended Rutgers University, Newark, NJ, Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, NJ, and Capella University, Minneapolis, MN. Currently, I live in Irvington, NJ, where I have resided for more than thirty years.

Over the years, I have enjoyed volunteering with the local schools’ PTO and PTA, as well as the town’s Small Fry basketball, and Irvington Golden Knights football, and cheerleading teams. I have also served on the local Board of Education as a member and as the Board President.

In 2018, I began writing an Opinion Editorial column, In Between The Lines, for the Irvington Herald. The Editor-in-Chief has expressed how much he appreciates the minimal editing required before submitting my work for publication. I enjoy meditating, reading, sightseeing, sunrises, sunsets, and breathtaking views. I like antiquing, and I appreciate beautiful historical buildings and architecture. I like gardening, working with my hands, crafting, and repurposing old things into new creations. I love working in my community and helping my neighbors.

Currently, I am employed with the Irvington Fire Department as a member of the Administrative Support Staff. Time Served is the sequel to my first self-published novel, Broken Promises Shattered Dreams.

I am currently working on the re-release of my first novel as well as the third installation in this series.
